How to Give Useful Feedback with 2 Words

Sometimes constructive criticism can be a tough pill to swallow.

It’s supposed to help

However, it’s easier said than to not take it personally.

When people want feedback from us,

We want to say nothing but nice things,

However, we know it won’t benefit them

The right way.

Is there a way to help them improve

While saving face?

When critiquing someone’s work,

You can say “I like…”

When the time comes to reveal

What area needs improvement,

Instead of saying what you don’t like

(Since people are sensitive and any ‘perceived’ negative comment can be scathing)

Say:
 

“I wonder.”

For example:

“I wonder how much better your artwork would turn out if you used this technique instead…”

Not only is this constructive,

It opens new windows of opportunities.

This can take your children’s lives in a completely new direction.
