If you have an important point you want to make
Telling a story may be an efficient method.
Stories can be jammed-packed with lessons
As they can be nutrient-dense, like a nut.
Stories can be more effective than lecturing
Simply because,
If you start blurting out statements as if you’re right
And it doesn’t make sense to your audience…
Or if it “butts heads” with their current beliefs,
You may get “pushback.”
This can result in your audience not listening anymore
Nor will they likely apply your advice,
No matter how great it sounds to you.
When you start a story,
People naturally want to find out how it ends.
This would be your opportunity to get your point across.
They have an incentive to listen
As they’re expecting a payoff.
