No, I’m not telling you to meditate.
…Although it does help.
How do you redirect yourself from over-thinking and analyzing your conversation
While you’re speaking to someone?
We must live in the moment.
What do I mean?
Our brain retains the most information when we EXPERIENCE something.
In order to experience something,
We must use our 5 senses.
Sharing a meal is a great example of an experience.
Visual – Seeing the presentation of the food and possibly decorations of the restaurant.
Auditory – Listening to the person you’re speaking with.
Olfactory – Smelling the food
Kinesthetic – Using utensils to eat
Taste – The food, obviously.
When you take a step back and enjoy what’s in front of you
Your mind won’t be preoccupied inside your own head.
How do you want to be remembered?
Give them an experience.
Include their senses.
Be present!
