How To Be Social (A Former Uber Driver Perspective)

There’s an absolute way to receive a one star rating as an Uber driver.

That method is called “Overreaching.”

Overreaching is more than just talking “too much.”

Some passengers may enjoy the company

However, many of them can feel when a person is trying too hard to be social.

Psychologically ‘lean in’ as they subconsciously seek approval.

When we psychologically ‘lean back’

(For example, not speaking to my passengers unless spoken to first)

Our passengers may have a sense of relief,

Knowing the person they’re speaking with isn’t trying to drain their energy

by forcing a conversation to happen.

You don’t have to be an Uber driver to understand if you’re overreaching.
