The people we choose to surround ourselves with end up shaping the words that come out of our mouths.
Let me give a layered example which showcases this.
In my debt collection office,
I often come across men who owe money
And allow their wives to verbally coach them on how to handle the phone call.
When we hear this happening,
Our favorite response is:
“So your wife wears the pants in the relationship?
This must mean you wear the dress.”
Their reaction typically isn’t a favorable one.
However, we find it hilarious!
How does everyone become influenced with this scenario?
The husband basically has his wife speak for him which says a lot about him.
I get influenced because I know the reaction I get from the “dress” comeback.
What are we allowing to come out of our mouths?
